I was experimenting with how to make something cosy and wearable from some lace weight yarn I had in my stash. This pattern is the result and became my first every published design.

Worked in the round creating a series of welts, this is a relatively easy knit to make a really cosy and structured cowl. The pattern can easily be adapted to increase the size and diameter for a slouchier fit.
The first time I made this cowl I used 1 skein of handspun alpaca yarn that I picked up at a Renaissance fair in Houston, it’s still my go to cowl for those chillier days. Any lace weight / 2 ply yarn would work well, working it’s delicacy into something with added warmth.
Recommended materials (not included):
100g lace weight yarn,
4mm knitting needles,
stitch marker,
tapestry needle
The pattern will be emailed to you within 24 hours of purchase.
