About this item
This Beaded Beasties box frame recreates a little piece of nature. The dragonfly uses an unusual cube-shaped bead with a dusky pink metallic glaze for the body that suggested displaying the insect in a profile pose. The acetate wings are printed with veining and are in a downward beat position giving the whole thing a different look. This dragonfly is made from predominantly recycled ceramic and glass beads in beautiful shades of purple and blue which help to suggest that iridescent shimmer of a real insect. The printed watercolour background paper perfectly compliments these colours. Riverbed pebbles and reeds are made with glass nuggets, raffia and cotton and leather cord. The black box frame is 20cm (8 ins) square and 33mm deep and has a hanging hook on the back. Each box frame is a unique creation. UK postage is included in the price.

These beads are perhaps all different from the norm and immediately suggested an alternative style for the dragonfly.
