About this item
A pair of cone shaped earrings made with a 1962 old OS map of Greater London. The beads are made by cutting the map into strips, hand rolling it into the desired shape then varnishing it. The beads are complemented by vibrant red round and faceted beads. Mounted on a gold plated earrings hook The drop from the top of the earring hook to the bottom of the small end bead is about 5 cm. Hello and welcome. I make jewellery out of hand rolled paper beads which I sell in aid of the St Wilfrid's centre for vulnerable and homeless adults. I add new creations every few weeks, so please feel free to come and browse again and again for that one-of-a-kind piece. I love making beads out of maps. But this Greater London 1962 map was quite special: not only was the map paper lovely to work with but also it was great to recognise the names of some of the places on the map.
