Full description

This unique post card is a little sampler of traditional stitching worked in a free style format.

The backing of dark purple silk is decorated with a pleated strip of pale duck egg blue coloured silk that has been hand smocked in purple thread and then applied to the backing together with extra machine stitching and toning beads.

The whole top was then secured to a calico 'post card' backing.

The card measures the standard 6" x 4" and can be posted either in an envelope or as it stands. It is possible to write on the calico with a Biro or marker pen and stick a stamp on for postage. I can guarantee that the postman will want to hand deliver this! Be assured that the card will pass safely through the Post Office franking machine but of course you may want to keep it all to yourself!

I will wrap the card in tissue to send to you so that you can decide.
