There is a village in my head…..
Mrs Miggins surveyed the scene, hundreds of yards of fluttering flags dancing in the summer breeze, Twice round the green and looping the meadow to finish with a spiralling flourish around the gnarly tree in the maypole field. The May celebrations were set and the young band were tuning up, almost procession time… "Yippppeeee!" she called as she did an involuntary skip hearing a distant drum pounding…..funny how the thrill of May Day never goes.

Full description
This is a home cast, high fired earthenware mug hand painted with fluttering bunting. The bunting is 'tied' to the handle and the wind has blown it over the lip of the mug so the flags are on the inside too. I hand paint all my designs, they are totally unique, so each mug is different (although I do try to keep to a theme!) I dont use stencils or transfers. The mug is back stamped and signed and entitled 'Endless Summer'
This mug is 10cm high, holds 3/4 pint and is our absolute favourite shape at home. These are dishwasher safe and come with an artist infer and car tag tied to the handle with jute string. I wrap in tissue and use recycled materials to post with Royal Mail (First class Recorded)
I use food safe underglaze colour and lead free glaze and fire to high earthenware in my studio in South Norfolk. If you would like a set of these please do get in touch and I will make them specially so that the colour tones will a lll match up - if this is what you would like!!
