Full description

I photographed this lovely herdwick sheep at Sheepcote Valley, local nature reserve, Brighton. Herdies are a traditional breed from the fells of the Lake District in Cumbria, where they have sculpted the beautiful landscape since prehistory. After several years working as an urban shepherd I have discovered a method of photographing the sheep without frightening them off (I'm keeping this a secret!)

I took this herdy with a Canon 400D using a 60mm macro lens.

The card is printed on quality heavyweight matt paper, mounted in a window card, hand cut and crafted from Snowdon cartridge.

It is approx. 5 x 5 square, and comes with a white envelope, sealed in a cellophane bag.

The card is left blank for your own bleatings!

Traditional sheep grazing is part of conservation management of the chalk grassland of the South Downs.

Items will be shipped royal mail first class in a protective envelope.
