Jane was fascinated with Celtic knots, and said she found it ridiculously difficult to remember how to draw them, with the cleverness of the weaving in and out to ensure they go on forever, no beginning and no end. It was this which gave her the idea to combine a knot, with a description of the seasons, through the year with an apple tree. Jane was inspired by Japanese woodcuts, and the style of this design is heavily influenced by them. It is hand printed onto hand made lokta paper, and colour is added with acrylics, a medium Jane always loved. She did love colouring in! It measures 32cm square.
