This small Christmas 'Knitivity' is perfect to sit on a window sill or speaker. Mary & Joseph are here uner the star with the Baby Jesus, the 3 Kings have brought gifts and the Shepherds have brought a sheep. This is much adapted from a pattern by the fabulous Alan Dart, everything is stitched together rather than glued and a couple of the kings are modelling natty turbans. The characters are between 8 & 9 cm tall and the sheep is 5cm. Not suitable as a toy due to the pipe cleaner legs, halos & crooks. If you would like to expand the set, I can knit extra shepherds and angels (£5), camels (£5), donkeys (£5) and more sheep (£3 - choose brown, black or white) to order - please specify in an email (I will need a few days to knit these, so please be patient).
I knitted one of these Alan Dart 'Natural Nativities' to raffle at my Dad's Church fete and I loved it so much, I started knitting more - penty of time o knit whil wtching the Olympics! My sister is looking forward to having one for her birthday in October This one hs been adapted to make the characters much smaller & it's in more traditional colours. It's fiddly to knit & takes a while, but it's worth the effort!! Colours of scarves, head dresses and belts may vary slightly depending on what wool I have available, but the gowns are true to the photos.
