Mathilde is an accomplished baker. At last year's village fete, her madeleine cakes won her a rosette and the heart of a handsome Jackrabbit. Mathilde is hand-painted with a tiny brush on to a pebble, with added detail in fine pen. The brooch is varnished and securely attached to the safety pin with ribbon and material. Mathilde is certainly splash-proof, but it's best not to wear her whilst swimming! The pebble is approximately 33mm x 18mm and is also pictured next to a penny.
