This Iris ACEO is called 'Mid-day Irises'.
ACEO is an acronym that stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. They measure 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.
This ACEO is a print of a painting I did in 2008, measuring 40cm by 50cm and was not originally drawn ACEO size.
This is another of my paintings that 'lives' in my own home, in our living room. Irises are particularly satisfying to paint and they've been a subject I have returned to a number of times.
The original was a mixed media painting and utilised a favorite technique, masking off areas, pouring acrylic ink, and repeating to get most of the colour built up. Then finally adding detail with water colour and pastels. This 'feels' like a water colour but with a very intense depth of colour.
This will be sent in standard ACEO format , 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, printed on best quality satin 260 gsm photographic paper,, in a protective plastic sleeve. This will be signed by me and dated on the back, along with it's title and issue number ( 1 to 100).
