Monoprints

A monoprint is form of printmaking where only a single print is made, unlike other printmaking techniques where multiples are made. Monoprints are often created either by painting or drawing an image directly on to a glass or metal plate and then transferring that image to paper, or by inking the entire plate and creating an image by removing ink before transferring it to paper by applying pressure. Because each monoprint is a one off, every one is unique.
