I crochet, knit and tat things that make people happy

I first learned to knit when I was about five years old. I remember sitting under the kitchen table with my grandmother in a thunder storm and to take my mind off of the storm raging outside she showed me how to knit. I immediately loved it and spent all of my spare time knitting simple things like egg cosies and finger puppets.

My mother taught me to crochet when I was around six years old. Crochet became my number one favourite craft and still it today. I leaned to Tat at school.

When I was about twelve years old we each had to bring something to school to make for one term. I brought a dress I was knitting for a baby and my friend brought a tatting shuttle. She taught me how to tat. I relearned the skill about five years ago and also learned needle tatting. Tatted Christmas decorations are beautiful.

I work full time as an office manager, which I enjoy very much although it involves sitting down for most of the day. In the evenings I put on an excercise video and do a little workout.

Cats are my absolute favourite pet. Sadly I lost my dear friend Matilda Lucy Furball in 2017 at the age of 16 years. My three sons have grown up and left home and I am looking forward to having another furry friend if I ever retire.
