I have loved art, craft and beautiful things all my life and I also love the great outdoors too, the two are very closely related so combining them brings me great joy. I learned to weave at Barnsley College of Art between 1998 and 1990 on a commercial surface pattern design BTEC. After leaving art college I went on to do all sorts of ‘normal’ things in order to let by and didn’t really have much to do with art and design for many years until I opened my Homes and Gardens shop ‘The SummerHouse’ in 2003. After ten years of great fun being in partnership with my Mum we decided due to recessionary factors to close down and it was at this point I returned to weaving and art. I have been building my business ever since and I have to say I LOVE my job. I spend every day creating beautiful things, displaying them and selling them at high end craft events , and the bonus is , my mum comes along to help me so we still have a lovely time together.
I live in Long Melford , Suffolk with my husband , son, two chihuahuas, two bunnies and an ever increasing amount of pond fish .
