Hi and welcome to my shop. I'm Jill, a self-taught watercolour and mixed media artist.

I started paintining after visiting the City of Bath and painting the famous Sally Lunn's Tea Rooms from a postcard I'd bought there. Friends loved the result, and I started painting home portraits as special gifts. This was many years ago in my 20's.

I gave up painting while my children grew up and I studied midwifery in the interim. I still work as a midwife, but I have more time for me now and so I've picked up my brushes again. Painting takes me to another world I get so lost in it.

I live on the coastline in Deal, Kent, so seascapes, street scenes and places of beauty inspire me. Christmas is my favourite season, so I love incorporating snow and lights into my paintings to give a wintry magical feel.

My work has a whimsical feel, whether that's a snowy street on a winter's night or a summer sunrise from the beach. I pay very close attention to detail and often include ink, enamel or pastel to make the colours and detail pop.
