Magical watercolours from the landscape of fairy tales.

Hi, I am an illustrator and artist based in the U.K. When I'm not doing commissions, my work explores the landscape of story, each image is a small portal into the Otherworld.

As a child I loved the illustrations of Beatrix Potter and Arthur Rackham and would spend hours in my imagination wandering around the images that I saw in my books. I truly feel that the imagination has so much to offer us, no matter our age. So, I like to create timeless pictures for young and old, small pieces of magic to add beauty and wonder to the world.

My inspiration comes from the classic children's literature that I was read as a child, combined with the magic of long holidays at my Grandparents walled garden. This combination was spell binding and I'm happy to say its enchantment has never left me.

I am self taught but have studied alongside professional illustrators and artists for most of my life. I love the simplicity and delicacy of watercolour and occasionally use ink and gouache. I use high quality artists materials for originals and all my printing is done by a fine art guild registered printer.

My studio is located in the hideaway hills of southern Scotland. Overlooked by a prehistoric hill fort and on the edge of a riverside woodland, magic is in the air everyday. There are fairy hills and standing stones all within minutes of the house and I am so very grateful.
