Hello, I’m Dawn – the maker behind The Good Soap, a small, family-run soap and skincare business based in beautiful North Wales.

I started making soap over eight years ago after becoming increasingly frustrated with the long ingredient lists, plastic packaging and harsh additives found in everyday skincare. What began as a personal project at the kitchen stove has grown into a much-loved business, run from our garden workshop. Our team includes myself, my best friend Michelle and my sister Gemma, who is in charge of posting out customer orders.

Every product is handmade in small batches using traditional methods and thoughtfully chosen ingredients. I work with natural butters and oils such as cocoa butter, shea butter, olive oil and coconut oil, selected for their skin-loving properties rather than trends. You won’t find synthetic fragrances, harsh detergents or unnecessary fillers here – just honest, well-formulated soap and skincare designed to be gentle, effective and a pleasure to use.

Sustainability is at the heart of what I do. My products are always plastic-free, packaged simply and responsibly, and made with longevity in mind. Solid bars that last well, multi-purpose balms, and uncomplicated skincare are all part of my belief that caring for your skin doesn’t need to be wasteful or overcomplicated.

I’m proud that many of my customers return time and time again, often telling me how these products have become part of their daily routine or helped simplify their skincare. That trust means everything to me, and it’s why I continue to make everything with the same care and attention as I did at the very beginning.
