Using traditional crafts to create handmade textile gifts

Hi! Thank you for visiting the Taylor and Morris shop.

I am a crafter from Suffolk who works with yarns and fabrics to create unique gifts. I come from a very creative family and grew up surrounded by people who used their skills to make and create. I'm inspired by the traditional crafts that were once part of every day life, such as crochet, embroidery, English paper piecing and slow stitching. I don't own an electric sewing machine! My machine is a Singer Treadle, which has been in my family since it was new in 1917. My Dad and I restored the machine and, apart from having a new leather belt, it is still in its original condition and working beautifully.

The pieces that I make use traditional crafts and traditional methods. Taylor and Morris allows me, along with many other Folksy sellers, to keep our English crafting history alive.
