Award winning woven textile designer specialising in handwoven bags and accessories

I am a woven textile designer inspired by books I love and the stories I hear. I weave primarily with natural yarns, wool and plant based fibres, often hand dyed with the occasional use of a fancy accent yarn for a couture aesthetic.

I founded Studio Cynefin in 2021 whilst living in Wales and studying Textiles part-time at Carmarthen School of Art, from where I graduated with a first class honours degree in 2023. On graduation, I relocated my studio to a converted cotton mill on the Macclesfield Canal in Cheshire from where I weave on a variety of looms and run weaving workshops for complete beginners through to a number of technical courses for experienced weavers.

I have aways loved bags, you can never have enough! I enjoy personalising them for specific purposes or customers and welcome commissions.
