I live in Leicester - the place where they found a king in a car park - with my husband, who is a commercial and landscape photographer. I split my time between making jewellery - my passion - and running the photography business.
The photo above - of course taken by my husband - shows me hard at work on one of my favourite bridal comb designs.
I've been making jewellery for about 15 years now and started when I bought a jewellery kit for my goddaughter and thought 'I could do that too' - and so I taught myself the basics and have developed my techniques over the years - reading books, looking at other people's work, experimenting with different ideas and taking a course in silversmithing - which really helped me understand the materials I work with and gave me a real connection to all the silver, gold and metal smiths that came before me.
All my jewellery is handmade and I use the best materials I can find - usually from the UK, although I've been lucky enough to holiday in the US, where there seems to be a bead shop on every corner, full of gorgeous and unusual goodies that I can't resist.
I'm inspired by colour and the natural beauty of the gemstones and crystals I use and like to let the materials do the talking. I love experimenting with unusual and unexpected colour combinations and I believe firmly that jewellery only comes to life when it is loved and worn.
In addition to everyday jewellery, I also have a collection of wedding jewellery and bridal hair accessories - made in gorgeous Swarovski Crystals and Pearls. If my everyday jewellery can be classified as colourful, then my bridal jewellery, with it's simple, clean elegant lines is completely the opposite. I like to take a traditional idea - like a string of pearls - and put a twist on it, just to update the design and give my clients something a little unique for their big day.
I am happy to re-create any of my bridal designs to suit your colour scheme and have access to over 70 colour options that can be used in thousands of combinations - so please ask. Sorry, but the jewellery in the everyday collection are all one-off, unique designs so can't be re-created.
