Creating Unique items from a mix of recycled/ upcycled and new materials.

I started to acquire remnants and remainder fabrics, yarn and beads/ broken jewellery etc. from retail and charity outlets in mid 2010s as part of a retirement (from public sector) plan to use my life long acquired creative skills.
I will also source good quality pre-used items to use in my projects.
In order to ensure high quality functionality of the items I make, I will also sourcing some new materials to add to my projects, though where relevant/ possible I will use sustainable or ethical sources.
In summary, most items are created from a mix of preused, scrap and new materials.

I rarely have a clear picture of how an item I begin to make will look or function at the beginning of a project - I will use patterns as a framework or ideas for the basics of a project, but will add individual touches so every item produced is completely unique.
