I'm a purple-haired granny with a sewing machine - and I know how to use it!

I live in rural Somerset, where I have a little sewing corner squeezed into my cottage. I learned to knit and sew when I was young, taught by my mum and my granny. I love to carry on the hand-crafting tradition by making clothing and soft furnishings for the family - but I hate wasting good fabric, so I use the offcuts to make handy little things to use around the house.

This means that, very often, my creations are unique and can never be repeated. And when the fabric pieces are too small to make something from, I turn them into patchwork - and make something from that!
