Beautiful freshwater pearls. Traditionally hand-knotted. Made to be worn, loved and, perhaps one day, passed on.

I have always loved pearls – their soft lustre, unique shapes and perfectly imperfect nature. No two freshwater pearls are quite the same, and that is part of their beauty.

My love of pearls also comes with a story. My mother lived in Hong Kong, where she traded in pearls and perfected the traditional art of hand-knotting them. As age has made this intricate work more difficult for her, I am proudly continuing a craft that she loved.
I hand-string my freshwater pearl jewellery using the same traditional technique, carefully knotting between each pearl. It is a slow, absorbing process that allows each pearl to sit beautifully while protecting it and adding security to the finished piece.

I want to make the beauty of real freshwater pearls more accessible – jewellery to be worn and enjoyed, not simply saved for special occasions.

Just as the love of pearls and the craft of stringing them has passed from my mother to me, I love the thought that the jewellery I create might eventually be passed from one generation to another and become part of your own family's story.
