Welcome to my Folksy shop, pop in and have a browse, you'll find lots of unique hand built pieces all made in my home studio in the Welsh Valleys with my 2 year old Cockapoo Ruby who loves to eat clay!!!! I love experimenting and make a wide range of items including plates, bowls and vases but also hanging decorations and wedding favours.
Most of the pieces are made using slabs of clay and building the pieces. The main tools I use are my hands but also use hand tools. I like using different clays as find it fascinating the way they change when fired and how they all react slightly differently with the glazes I use. No two pieces are the same even if the same clay and glazes are used there is always a small piece of uniqueness in each piece.
I'm inspired by the colours I see around me and how the colours make me feel but also like to make functional pieces that will last and enable me and others to avoid buying something made of plastic.
I've always loved craft and creating things, I bought my first kiln 18 months ago and have been on an amazing journey of discovery ever since. I loose track of time when in the studio and feel totally relaxed and at peace. Thanks for dropping by and join me on my journey.
