A contemporary Scottish Artist

Hello world!

I am Megan Bellatrix Archibald. I graduated from Grays School of Art in 2019, with an Honours degree in Contemporary Art Practice, and I am currently undertaking a Master of Fine Art degree at the University of Edinburgh.

I paint in less than traditional ways - using bent wire, sticks, leaves, rocks or good old fashioned fingers in lieu of traditional paintbrushes. In my sculptural work, I am interested in the relationships between the natural and unnatural object - I like to create natural driftwood that glows in the dark, or is armoured with metal.

I drink far too much coffee, and particularly like listening to BBC Radio 2 in the studio.

Megan graduated from Grays School of Art, Aberdeen in 2019, having read an Honours degree in Contemporary Art Practice, before completing a Master of Fine Art degree at the University of Edinburgh, Megan's work reflects on home, belonging and identity - and her love of the North East of Scotland.
