porcelain art inspired by the wonders of nature

Hi my name is Mariam,

My nature inspired porcelain works are made by me (a one woman show) in my tiny little studio pottery in a small Cornish village.

When I was a child growing up in the Himalayan mountains of India I was surrounded by nature and the wonders of the natural world ,from plants and animals to insects and bees it was marvellous.I spent hours watching the bees bumbling about the flowers, the wild gentians along the path. It was heaven for a small child.

I now live in Cornwall (uk) its not the same as the Himalayas but equally beautiful in its own right. instead of towering peaks I now have crashing waves, instead of snow leopards I now have foxes and badgers. Even though the plants, animals bees and insects are slightly different they fascinate me in the same way they did when I was a child.

I now incorporate my love for nature and wild life into my passion and create unique ceramic gifts . I use mainly porcelain clay which I fire up to 3 times ranging from 750 degrees C to 1263 degrees C. No 2 pieces can ever be identical as each one is hand made and painted.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed making them.
