Hand-dyed by nature. Madder & Moss transforms silk and natural fibres into one-of-a-kind accessories, coloured by plants, seasons, and soil.

Madder & Moss is just me — tending dye plants in the garden and stitching in my loft, making things slowly, thoughtfully, and with love. It’s where my love of fabric, colour, nature and the rhythm of making all meet.

Each piece is a one-off: simple, useful shapes brought to life through reclaimed textiles, natural fibres and hand-dyed silks coloured by plants, leaves and flowers.

The name comes from two things I love. Madder — an ancient dye plant that gives warm earthy reds and pinks — a reminder of the natural magic at the heart of what I do. And Moss — soft, green and grounding — a little world of quiet beauty.

I’m drawn to materials with a story: a forgotten remnant, a slubby piece of linen, a silk transformed by the dye pot. There’s something deeply satisfying about giving fabrics a second life and watching colour emerge slowly — a kind of gentle alchemy where every result is unique, and perfectly imperfect.
