Sewing Book - 20 Beautiful ...

Hello, I'm Lasse Irisse, and I make things with fabric — and then I write about them.
Cloth Notes started because I kept noticing that most sewing books teach you to follow a pattern, but very few teach you to think about a skirt. What makes a gathered skirt feel romantic rather than shapeless? What does linen do to a silhouette that cotton doesn't? What is the one detail that stops a simple design from being forgettable? These are the questions that interest me.
I came to sewing the way a lot of people do — during a long quiet stretch at home, with a machine, some fabric, and too much curiosity. I taught myself to sew professionally enough that the dresses I made were mistaken for shop-bought. That was the beginning of Cloth Notes.
The Cloth Notes universe has a cast of characters — tiny cloth people who inhabit bolts of fabric and pincushions and the back of your sewing drawer. There is a black cat who is always underfoot. I work from wherever I happen to be, with a notebook, a mug of something, and a considerable stash.
Everything I make is a digital download, delivered instantly. I do love hearing from makers. If something in a guide I wrote has helped you, or confused you, or made you look at a skirt differently — do say hello.
