Glastonbury Crafter and Paralympic Gold Medallist making tea light holders and ornaments decorated in Dot Art

I started crafting in 2019 following my retirement from Paralympic Archery. I had spent more than 20 years in competitive sport in a very structured environment, so I was keen to enjoy a more artistic lifestyle that allowed me to investigate my artistic side and a freedom to express myself through art.

I mould the tea lights from plaster and the decorate them with dot art. I take inspiration for my designs from the myriad of sites in and around Glastonbury. It is a very special place which attracts a wide variety of people, some who are interested in its mystical side, some in its history, and of course those coming for the music festival.

I am always exploring different styles of art including acrylic pouring art, watercolour painting and urban sketching. When I look at my surroundings through artist eyes, it is surprising all the new things I notice in a town that I have lived in for 30 years
