Quirky, Cheeky and Whimsical art made from wool

I'm Jess,
A crazy wool stabber based just outside Bristol with my furry feline overlord. I needle felt unique pieces from a range of different wool and acrylic fibres. Merino is my favourite for the soft texture and vibrant colours while Bergschaf is coarser with a more natural look and Teesdale makes great curly locks. I also use a sprinkling of Angelina fibre for glitter effect in some pieces.

My inspiration comes from nature and the animal kingdom. As a huge animal lover myself I can't resist making cheeky little characters from anything furry or feathery. I love too how the colours and light of a wild coast or watery habitat will play so much of my artwork comes from this too

Occasionally I will be asked for a replica of someone's pet, either in memorial or as a gift and I can often use the animal's own fur to felt the piece or include a lock of fur into the piece

I choose suppliers carefully as I like to support other small businesses where possible so all my suppliers are uk based and almost all family run, smaller ventures.

I have been felting for 5 years, starting after an injury kept me off work and housebound for 6 weeks, and sell at local markets and events such as Bristol Harbourside Market and Bristol Craft and Flea among others, as well as online on Folksy and Facebook. Meeting other artists and traders at these events is always fun and I find familiar, friendly faces now in many of my frequented venues

In 2019 I started into workshops and planned to expand these in 2020 before lockdowns and tier rules made this impossible but its my hope to work on doing more of these in the near future for those who want to try felting themselves.
