I'm a modern pointillist artist living in the Suffolk countryside where I get a lot of my inspiration from.

Hi, My name is Jay and I live in the Suffolk countryside. My work is inspired by the world around me. Watching hares dancing across the fields as I walk my husky River (shes also my quality control manager) and the other-halfs unruly spaniel Spider (destroyer of shoes & toilet rolls) to just spending time with my two horses and letting my worries melt away (usually replaced with apple & carrot slobber). My animals mean the world to me and are very big part of my family, which is why I love to paint peoples pets and horses and consider it an honour to try and capture them on paper. I like to do my 'paintings' in ink using a method called pointillism. This is basically building up layers of dots to get shadows and different shades of colour. Its a time consuming method so portraits can take a little while to be completed but I think they are worth the effort as you can achieve a high level of detail. When I'm not working on commissions I like to work on wildlife art that I turn into cards and prints. Some of the more popular ones then also get printed on to china mugs and clocks etc at my local craft shop which is close to where I keep my horses. I love being able to get my printing done by another small local business with an eye on detail and quality and through them I found another local crafter who makes me beautiful boxes for my gift sets.
