About Jack and Betty Silver

Jack and Betty Silver

Hand made silver jewellery made by myself using recycled and ethically sourced silver.

Hello. Im Jack.
I make unique pieces of silver jewellery, mainly from recycled or ethically sourced silver.
I have spent most of my life as a foodie, musician and professional chef, but over the years became more and more interested in jewellery - especially sterling silver, and now work from home as a designer and maker.
Im mostly self taught but have spent time learning with Lisa Anne Dickenson of LA Jewellery in Ludlow Shropshire.
My mother was from Denmark, and as children we spent many happy years visiting Randers and Copenhagen.
I vividly remember mums dressing table with very stylish Danish designed silver jewellery which my sister has inherited.
These were all what I call 'heritage' pieces and I also make my own jewellery with the idea that it will be passed on through generations.
I like to think some of the design ideas are from that Scandinavian heritiage but I get ideas from all around me.
My favourite times are walking on Norfolk or Dorset beaches with my wife Carolyn and Betty the Jack Russel. It's here a lot of the ideas flow, looking at shells, pebbles, driftwood and patterns left in the sand as the tide goes out.
We live on a farm in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire and my studio is up in the rafters of the old barn we call home. When Im in this room, time just drifts away.
I hope you like my designs and would love to hear from you. If you see something of mine and would like to incorporate a design feature from another item, please let me know and Im sure I can help. There are so many variations which can work ot make something beautiful.
I try to get to work on your piece the same day and get it to you as soon as possible, but please allow 3 days before dispatch as a rule of thumb.
If you are in a hurry, let me know and I will see what I can do.
Thank you for reading this.
Jack
