My mum taught me to knit at the age of 5 and it then took me about 2 years to finish a very long 'Dr Who' scarf using all her left over yarns by which time I'd really got the hang of it and I was hooked! Over the years I have knitted for my children, friends and family and now my grandchildren. In that time I have seen a real change in the yarn market and there are so many fabulous yarns on the market now to choose from compared to when I started. I am always on the look out for interesting yarns and love to work with hand dyed, hand spun yarns and natural yarns such as pure wools, silk, cotton. I'm a country girl at heart and love nature and am now learning again from my mum how to dye yarns from natural products like vegetable skins and all the beautiful things that nature provides all around us. I am also learning to spin as my goal is to produce all my items from yarns that I have spun and dyed myself.
I am a mother of 4 and grandmother to 6...so far but there may be more! In my spare time I love to bake and make jams from berries collected on my long country dog walks. Every year you will find me out foraging in Autumn for blackberries to make jam and sloes to make sloe gin which I try to keep for myself but everyone loves it and expects a bottle!
I hope you enjoy your visit to my shop and am always happy to chat so please message me if you have any questions or would like to discuss a custom made order
