Hello! I'm Emma and I'm an illustrator, wildlife and gardening fanatic, and peanut butter enthusiast living in a little seaside town in East Sussex, UK.
My artwork is mainly inspired by nature and local wildlife. I am incredibly passionate about the environment and protecting our planet, and this plays an important influence over what I do! I work with a combination of traditional mediums such as watercolour paint, colouring pencil and oil pastel, and digital drawing software to create illustrations that I hope will bring a smile to your face. The ultimate aim of my artwork is to help educate people on the wildlife that lives alongside us in the UK, and hopefully spark a deeper awareness and connection with the natural world.
I've always loved art and nature. As a kiddo I would spend so much of my time making art, doodling in lined notebooks and painting with my dear grandma. I owe all of my creativity and my interest in art and watercolour painting to her. I studied Illustration at the University of Portsmouth, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in 2019. After graduating, I began making greetings cards and little stickers using my old, clunky HP printer! (Luckily for the printer, I don't print my cards myself anymore!) Since I started selling my work in October 2019, I have gradually built up a collection of cards, prints and pin badges. I've learnt so much over the last 4 years.
Alongside making artwork and selling my work online and craft fairs, I work full time as a TA and art teacher in a primary school. At a recent craft fair I had a surprise visit from one of my students, who told me that my out-of-work artist persona is my secret identity! So, essentially... I am Spiderman. (Or Llamawoman? Not sure that'll catch on...)
All of my cards and prints are printed onto high quality recycled card stock in the UK. My wooden pin badges are printed onto sustainably sourced maple veneer in the UK, and take 1/3 less CO2 to produce in comparison to enamel pins. I endeavour to make my work as environmentally friendly as possible, I don't use any plastic in my products or packaging (with the exception of the vinyls I apply to my stickers to increase their longevity!)
At the moment I am only shipping to destinations in the UK - I hope to ship overseas as soon as possible.
