It started on a summer evening in 2016 at Hyde Park Picture House. That night, a French documentary called 'Demain' was being shown. Come the end of the film, I met Col who was there with a stall representing TCV Hollybush (The Conservation Volunteers based in Kirkstall). On the back of that I signed up for Beginners Woodwork easing into it all with a birdhouse, indoor bench and bookcase. Eager to learn, I enrolled on their Production Woodwork and Advanced Woodwork courses too all the while, learning at home both in practice and online. It reached a stage where I was making more furniture than I had space for and hence, the online shop you see here today.
As an eco-conscious individual a lot of what I use is re-purposed wood from local businesses. The type of wood that would have gone unused and more often than not, sent to landfill. Old pallets are at the forefront of that and have helped shape the postbox that you see before you today. Once they are all cleaned up, the worn and weathered soon becomes modern and unique. I do enjoy a challenge, so if you have a project in mind I'm here and ready for it.
