I cut and stitch, working in layers to achieve detailed embellished surfaces using techniques I have experimented with and perfected over the last 10 years.
All the flowers are cut by hand from recycled fabrics – I have hours of patience which stems from my training as a weaver!

The stitching is a combination of hand and machine. My vintage Husqvarna Viking allows me greater control to work stitch by stitch and as I need to wind it by hand it requires no electricity!
(My poor old Bernina just isn’t up to this level of control so sadly doesn’t get a look-in these days!)
I work from my small home studio where my garden and the flora of the surrounding Pennine meadows are a constant source of inspiration.
