The story behind our jewellery;

Crimson Cosmos is an exciting collaboration by UK Jeweller/Silversmith Kate and her husband, Jewellery Designer Andy. Our dream has always been to work together towards a common jewellery goal, but circumstances have dictated that we have had to commit to separate work projects – until now. We decided to finally devote all our time to a new joint jewellery venture, exploring new possibilities and making jewellery that echoes our combined interests and inspirations.

The natural world is our biggest inspiration. From plants and trees to birds and insects we are inspired by the beauty of our natural surroundings. Even pebbles on a beach gave us the basis for entire range of contemporary pieces. As people, we are all busy for so much of the time, but if you just take a little time, even a few seconds a day to just slow down and notice something beautiful in nature, the world becomes a much more pleasant and magical place to be and we have the constant desire to hopefully try and capture and represent some of that magic in our jewellery.

As well as Sterling Silver we enjoy using mixed metals. We want to make striking, eye-catching jewellery - but for everyone, in a more affordable way for the buyer, without compromising on quality or craftsmanship. Many of our pieces have been created using combinations of copper, brass and silver, which gives a similar impact and appearance of gold with silver, this means we are able to create jewellery that is equally beautiful and impactful but at a fraction of the cost.
We are personally committed to preserving our heritage craft of hand jewellery making and silversmithing. In an age where seemingly anything can be designed on a computer program and then recreated in it's image, mixed metals is the one area where this cannot be achieved. Every piece of jewellery that we make has come from our own imagination and has been made by hand, therefore every piece is unique and just that little bit more special, containing that human factor and personal touch which is missing in mass-produced work.

We are environmentally conscious and with this in mind we only use Sterling Silver that is 100% Eco Friendly, purchased from a UK bullion manufacturer. Any waste that we generate is recycled and all stones are ethically sourced within the UK. The Copper and Brass we use is purchased from a UK manufacturer who mainly supplies the building industry, we buy their small surplus pieces which cuts down on any waste product.
Our presentation jewellery boxes are sustainable and recyclable.
