my little studio at day and night - made for designing, editing and sewing

My name is Lana.

I'm an artist and use drawing and painting on fabrics and then sewing to create
a distinctive handmade art products.

My Mind:
My biggest inspiration comes from music and nature.
Lot's of music whilst working keeps me in touch with the big wide world outside and nature is my connection with the Big Spirit from the inside.
I'm a huge plant lover and for as long as I can remember I've always kept house plants as my tribe - now boasting with
some pretty big friends in my conservatory.
I regularly go on outings in beautiful countryside with my family in Kent, where I live, always returning recharged and nurtured.

My body:
As my work involves lots of time being
"crouched" in front of my Singer sewing machine from the 70s and a computer ( from the more recent times)
I regularly 'enjoy' Pilates classes.

My soul:
Art in everyday use.
An ingenious idea of having a limited edition artwork,
hand printed, drawn or painted - on your table,
or as a wearable (more like,shoulder hanged) piece of art.
Seriously!

Have a look at collection of -PoP mats- with motifs that inspire me.
They are uniquely hand crafted placemats
using various techniques of dying, spraying, stencilling and artfully distressing the fabric.
They are a limited series as I replicate each one by hand, like a painting - but in series of six or more.

-lanaKoupe- bag collection is a reflection
of constant search for handmade contemporary look
with painted art as a centre point.

As well as revealing my darker obsession with eternal
greyness of a sweat cloth - you could say the gloomy weather, which always makes me wanna design some
romantically-fantastical grey sweatshirts.
