Cluck Cluck! designs are drawn by Suffolk based artist Victoria Hall. Victoria studied painting at the University of Northumbria, followed by an M.A. at Chelsea College of Art & Design in London. She has been a practicing artist since graduating in 1995 and has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is held in a several collections including the Arts Council Collection, Hiscox and ICA Oslo. She has also received awards from the British Council and the London Arts Board. Victoria set up Cluck Cluck! In 2010 after returning to her Suffolk roots from London, where she now lives with her family, their brood of hens along with pari of dogs!
“I lived on a farm in Suffolk, which had a number of hens, geese and several fine cockerels. These animals were very much part of the family and I would often sketch them. These drawings proved popular, so on returning to Suffolk I decided to create a range of prints with hens and other birds, and Cluck Cluck! was hatched."
The hens are sketched from life, then drawn in black Indian ink. A print is then made from the drawing to which feathers are delicately added, giving a sense of texture and a little colour to the image. These feathers are carefully sourced using colours that compliment contemporary interiors schemes and set off perfectly with the vintage birch frames to look stunning in your home.
