Hi, I'm Cathryn Worrell and I'm an artist and illustrator based in central London.

I spent the first part of my career teaching children in a secondary school in Yorkshire and I rediscovered my love for making art after leaving my teaching job due to chronic illness. Drawing helped me to slow down and stay present at a time when life felt very difficult and I slowly developed a regular sketchbook habit.

My creative practice evolved, the personal blog I started writing in 2011 grew into my current website and I started to sell my work online.

I take inspiration from the small moments in daily life, including my home and nature, embracing imperfection and a sense of nostalgia. You’ll see plants, animals, insects, landscapes, buildings and patterns, throughout my artwork.

I started my art and illustration business because it allows me to do the creative work that I love, share it with other people who need it and use my energy wisely so I can take care of my health.

I use my sketchbook as a place to play and explore, experimenting with line, texture and colour and a lot of my art prints and greeting cards are images taken directly from my sketchbooks so you get a direct connection to the hand painted artwork.
