Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
When I started turning 19 years ago a "green woodturner" was someone who turned in wet wood, however now it seems to mean how kind are we to the planet. Well my converted garage has solar panels on which albut power my lathe etc, I use mainly home dried wood dried in my solar powered kiln and which has come from fallen trees. We went all electric 12 yrs ago and now have an electric car so our carbon footprint is very small. I love to see what grain and other markings are hidden beneath the bark I started turning as a stress relieving hobby and about 7 years ago took it up as a craft business online with Folksy. I use almost 100% recycled packaging from gifted bubble wrap to any small cardboard box I can find with newspaper to bulk out the corners for bowls etc.
My journey to work is very short, downside is I can't not go in when it snows, I have a recycled electric bathroom towel radiator to keep me and my stock cosy in the winter months.. I make bowls, pin cushions, vases, pencil pots, pendants , light pulls etc and my wife who is very artistic decorates some of my work with pyrographed designs. I continue to be a member of Black Country Wood Turners since 2003 and also of the Association of Wood Turners of Great Britain for 19 years.
I am an avid and improving crown green bowler and play four times a week during April-Sept and Lawn bowls on Monday evenings, which fits in well with being busier in the run up to Christmas. I hope you enjoy looking at my shop and if there is something you would like me to make then please email me your request.
My wife Jacqui also has a shop on Folksy https://folksy.com/shops/JaxEnamelledJewellery
