I was a doctor. I nearly died. Now I make sick furniture from English hardwood rescued from fallen street trees.

I dedicated my life to a career which made me sick. In recovery, I turned to things I knew I loved. Music led me to a community workshop and I fell in love with crafting English hardwood.
I've always been handy but I love learning techniques to make new things, particularly furniture. My previous skills allow me to make precise, detailed designs which bring the quality of the wood to the forefront of my pieces. I only work with reclaimed timber from Fallen and Felled. They do amazing work bringing trees destined for the furnace to a community of makers who turn them into beautiful objects. This ensures that the carbon embodied in the tree stays put. It also negates the need to grow and import timber from abroad.
