I have always enjoyed painting but it was not until I retired from teaching that I found the time to indulge in my creative work. I love painting in water colour, as well as acrylics and oils. I enjoy creating art which reflects my experiences of places. I also enjoy exploring colour, shape and form in my abstract work.

My illustrated poems bring together my writing and art. My best poetry tends to be written when I am most emotional. Although I have also written a novel, the poetry book came first. I was taken back to moments in my life and engrossed in forgotten memories. After some culling and re-writing, I collated them chronologically as they took me through a period in my life. I then added poems inspired by the birth of my granddaughter and further reflective poems to produce my anthology, 'Life's Journey Through Poetry.' Of course, the best time to publish poetry is my age, when you have retired. You do not care as much about what people think and you are more willing to ‘reveal,’ yourself to a public audience.

As well as offering these paintings for sale, I am happy to create individual pieces in colours, or of places, that suit the individual.

All work is original and individual.
