Tree whisperer

Hello. My name is Bec, and I work in the woods.

I am very lucky to be in charge of a collection of rare and exotic trees, with my herd of goats and Poppy Dog. I run family events, retreat weekends, craft days; all with the intention of connecting people to nature so that they learn to love it, and care for it.

I specialise in working with children, women and people in recovery from addiction - using the healing power of the woods to improve health and wellbeing. Spend a day in the woods around the campfire and you will return home feeling restored, relaxed and refreshed.

I have a few goats, some of which are Angora - offering me mohair twice a year. The goats eat the bramble and other undergrowth in the woods, and I use the hair to spin and knit, as well as teaching spinning in the woods. Visitors to the woods enjoy spending time with the goats watching them graze, walking them along the pathway to find the juiciest freshest stems.

I am learning from the woods with each passing year. Creating beautiful things from the woodland that can replace mass-produced plastics in the home means your home is more beautiful, everything returns to the earth after you have used it. Wood and wool are my favourite materials.
