A passionate maker of things

Hello and thank you for visiting my shop today. Just a quick introduction -I am a mixed media artist originally from the Midlands who answered the call of the sea and now live on the Kent coast with the ocean at my front door. I have a degree in Art and Craft from Coventry University specialising in textiles and have been featured in publications including Dolls magazine and Creative Stamping.
I have gathered antique and discarded fabric and trim for over 40 years and still gain huge pleasure in finding more to add to my ever growing collection. Tablecloths are a current favourite together with early machine made lace. Beautiful linens hand embroidered with such skill can still be found. Rescued and laundered they find a place and are reused in my current work. Vintage tapestry is another joy to be transformed into bags and other accessories- giving them a new life and purpose. I also try my hand at patchwork using a mixture of found and contemporary cloth, nothing large but smaller intimate coverings often with slow stitched detail.
I am also an avid journaler (when time permits) so cards and prints can often be found alongside my fabric work.
All this collecting and using creates offcuts/remnants and surplus items. These I offer for use in your own creative journey - have a look around, see what catches your eye-happy to help.

I share my life and my home with a rather grumpy, unfriendly rescue kitty called Ruby Tuesday (Melanie not the Rolling Stones) - we live each day and are content.
