Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
I am a newbie in the world of online selling - I opened up my Folksy shop in November 2017. I am also a relative newcomer to making art, starting pretty much from scratch in summer 2015. Much to my surprise, I was accepted on a fine art course, on the strength of having done just five drawing lessons. When I tried printmaking, I was immediately grabbed. My favourite printmaking technique is lino cut because it's such a brilliant way of playing with different colours. I love the glossy inks and the quality paper that I use. At first, I printed entirely by hand on my dining room table. I now print in professional studios using a traditional printing press. While spending hours on a computer is not my idea of fun, I use digital technology too. I am focusing ZindziZola on greetings cards and wall art, although I have also dabbled in textile printing.
I named my Folksy shop after my two cats, Zindzi and Zola. Like many Folksy buyers and sellers, I love animals and nature. I get lots of inspiration for my art from my volunteer work on urban nature reserves in North London, where I live.
I've started my Folksy shop on a small scale, and look forward to expanding it in 2018. I also enjoy selling at craft fairs. It's an excellent opportunity to find out from customers and the general public what they like and don't like, as is this site - so please do contact me to give me feedback. Many thanks!
