Handmade bags and accessories in gorgeous fabrics.

My name is Rachel and I have been making bags for almost 12 years. I use a combination of my own designs and patterns by other bags makers and designers that I admire. I have a full time job so fit my sewing in during the evenings and weekends. It acts as the perfect relaxing therapy to help me unwind from a busy day/week.
My Mum and my Nana were both great sewers and I grew up always being told to 'mind the pins!' whenever I sat down as there was invariably a half sewn project draped over the back of a chair. I like to think I am continuing their good work!
Fabric is an obsession of mine and I love the process of turning it into a gorgeous and useful bag. I also enjoy making clothes but bag making is my first sewing love. When I first began making bags, the fabrics were mainly bright and patterned but I have also discovered the joy of a plain fabric in a really good colour, whether it be a tactile tweed or a practical oilskin. I am very inspired by the Scandinavian aesthetic and am usually of the mind that less is more. Good quality fittings are a must together with the addition of a quirky lining. Bags should not only be beautiful on the outside!
I am lucky enough to live in the tranquil Herefordshire countryside with my partner and my beautiful Border Terrier Toby who will be 11 this year and has been with me since the very beginning of my bag making journey. I couldn't imagine sewing without him by my side.
