Headbands and millinery

Hi, I’m Katie owner of Willow & Hermione, a little business situated in the Wiltshire countryside.
I hand-make headbands and millinery pieces, being inspired by the beautiful countryside and the wonders that nature has to offer.

I’m a mum of three my son is 16, two daughters 14 and 12, we have three dogs two of which are rescues from Cyprus that we adopted (well one followed us home and never left) after living there for 2 years. We have three rabbits, my beautiful Belgian hare Hyzenthlay and two Rex rabbits Luna and Bonnie.

I studied art and then went onto fashion in my late teens early 20’s (feels a lifetime ago now!) I’m now 41 and after starting my accessories business in 2018 with my two daughters in mind I have finally followed my schoolgirl dream of becoming a milliner…better late than never!

With two daughters (and long hair of my own), having a lot of long hair to deal with, and not much time I started Willow + Hermione Accessories to bring that splash of colour and glitz into busy lives.

I source my fabrics from small businesses, I like to find hidden treasures, a shop I purchase from in London always has an array of beautiful fabrics from Japan and India which always leave me in a tricky position with deciding what to choose! My local fabric shop always has the most beautiful prints and I feel happy I am helping another small independent business grow.

Every item has an element of hand sewing involved (millinery pieces are entirely hand sewn) and is made with love and care, I don’t make loads of one thing, I will make 1 to 5 of each item so you will have a unique item to wear.

I started learning Millinery during lockdown which has been amazing, I’m still learning lots of fabulous techniques and have lots of fun things to come including handmade silk flowers and using fish leather.
