I love to work with sea glass and mixed metals

I have been making and selling jewellery on and off for around 10 years. I love all types of jewellery techniques but have a particular liking for sea glass and the idea of turning it into something beautiful to wear. I have been collecting sea glass for many many years, usually bringing it back in bulk from numerous holidays around the British coastlines, Devon and Cornwall in particular, an also the Scilly Isles which I absolutely love! I also go on the occasional mud larking trip down the River Thames with my Husband, its a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and always interesting to see what you uncover from your treasure hunt. In more recent times, I have also developed my liking and technique for mixed metal jewellery which have proved very popular among my customers.

I work part time for the British Library but I spend my spare time soldering and drilling etc. in my shed with my cat Lennie for company, he regularly (interrupts!) lends a paw ! =^..^=

Taking care of your jewellery

Much of my jewellery items are made from copper or a mix of copper and silver. Most of them have patinas applied to them to give the copper an aged look in parts of the design. To keep your jewellery looking at its best , its advisable to keep away from water or liquids which could remove the patinas and speed up oxidation. Copper does tarnish quite easily, an effect I think is rather nice and adds interest to the metal especially if it's textured. However, if you prefer a cleaner look, a jewellery polishing cloth can carefully be used to polish over the copper to remove some of the tarnish and give a more polished look. .

I am registered with the London Goldsmiths assay office, and have my own makers mark . Any items of jewellery over 7.78 g (sterling silver) need to be sent off for an official hallmark. Any items below this weight do not need an official hallmark, but will be marked with 925 where possible as my guarantee to the customer that it is genuine sterling silver as it is an offence to mark an item if it is not made of that material, some may also have my initials (my registered mark) this will be indicated in the listing.

All items are sent out via first class post, and within 3 working (sometimes less) days unless otherwise stated in the listing, such as custom or made to order items. If you need your order dispatched quickly, message me and I will do my best to send out ASAP. All jewellery and keyrings are rapped in tissue paper and supplied with jute gift bags, packaged in a paper bag with a business card. Some of my jewellery will be sent with a complimentary stamped mini gift tin, this will be indicated in the listing.

ABOUT PAYMENT - once you have ordered your items, immediate payment is preferred via PayPal or stripe(you don't have to open an account to use this service) or you have up to 24 hours from time of order to make your payment, if it's not convenient to do so at that moment. Please let me know if you are having problems with your order and payment. If you don't let me know items can be cancelled and re-listed for other potential customers.
