About The Woolen Warp

The Woolen Warp

Newbie spinner & weaver - Buried in a pile!

I started re-enacting as a poor Anglo-Saxon wench in 2023 (mostly cause my teenage son wanted to play with swords and fight battles!). As a result, I needed to learn a craft and quickly picked up hand spinning and dying of natural fibres of that era (300-700AD). This led me here, mostly cause I'm fast being buried by my addiction to all things fibre and my husband is now having to dig me out of the pile. Hence, I sell my skeins and woven crafts at reduced prices to reflect my skill.

I'm still a newbie, but I enjoy spinning far more than I do knitting or crochet and as such, want to make it clear that my crafts may not be as expertly spun like some of the other wonderful crafters you may see here. However, it is done in traditional ways, always spun with love and dyed using flowers and barks, just like the Anglo Saxons did of old!

I do hope you can join me on this journey and I look forward to communicating with you all ;o)
