About The Tudor Locket

The Tudor Locket

I make jewellery by hand from precious metals and gemstones.

I make jewellery using traditional tools and techniques from my small workshop in Kent. I do not use casting or software processing techniques. I do use some pre-formed components, findings and patterned metals in my work. Most of the items I make are one-of-a-kind pieces, so if you have it, no one else does! I like to work with precious metals in particular Silver and Silver metal clay. I use precious and semi-precious stones in my work. I love colours and collect stones and beads and then create designs to incorporate the gems.

I have a great interest in history especially the Tudor & Elizabethan period and I hope to use this interest, in part, as inspiration for some of my work and I also absolutely love nature, plants and insects.

I am a Botanical Artist and have a Diploma from the Society of Botanical Artists and have painted and drawn all of my life and this has given me the basis for recognising detail and patience jewellery making requires. I joined a silversmithing class at my local adult education centre 5 years ago and loved it and making jewellery has become a huge part of my life. I have mainly sold by word of mouth making bespoke pieces. You can see more about me and my work by clicking on my website (blog).

I like to purchase my materials and supplies from companies based in the UK and I also like to buy my materials from other small independent, crafters and makers from around the world, as I believe working with other small businesses is very valuable.

I aim to provide quality handmade pieces of jewellery and hope you may consider adding a piece of my work to your jewellery collection.
